Restaurants in Chia
These restaurants are both located just off the main street that runs through the area, the Viale Chia. We had delicious meals and memorable experiences at both.

Regarding reservations, we actually passed by the restaurant in the afternoon and reserved a table. I had read that at some restaurants you need to tell them in advance if you want to order the Porceddu, which we definitely did. So, I hit the two birds, reserved a table on the nice terrace surrounded by greenery and plants and made sure that we would have a full traditional pork roast to enjoy. Our waiter was particularly jovial, and we enjoyed fresh seafood to start and pork to finish. We also enjoyed some of the tradition Sardinian amaro (after dinner liqueur) called Mirto, made from Myrtle berries, as the plants grow on the island. The restaurant does not look like much from the roadside, but it is understated and high quality, really a perfect representation of the Chia area.
Recommended Dishes
Antipasto- Choose from an ample selection of fresh seafood
Secondi- Go for the Porceddu here
Contorni- We had roasted potatoes and a nice fresh pinzimonio (Crudite, that is, fresh vegetables like carrots, celery, fennel with high quality olive oil for dipping)
Dolci- Seadas, fresh fruit and mirto
Ristorante Pizzeria Bithia
This restaurant has a number of tables on a big open lawn area out front with green hills enveloping the area. A number of lamp posts create a golden glow for the dining area. The restaurant’s atmosphere was casual, in line with the informal, even rural ‘beach town’ feel of Chia, but the food was quite elegantly presented and delicious. You can see examples of the presentation on their website here.

Recommended Dishes
Antipasti- Degustazione di prodotti tipici della terra sarda (a selection of locally cured meats and cheeses with the local flatbread, pane carasau)
Primi- The pastas were delicious here; this is a good place to try some of the local varieties, the Malloreddus al ragu di salsiccia sarda con finocchietto selvatico, for example. The malloreddus are a local pasta type also called ‘little Sardinian gnocchi’ with a sausage ragu with fennel.
Dolci- Try the semifreddo al mirto (an icecream like dessert with the local mirto liqueur) or the morbidoso al cioccolato (a decadent warm chocolate cake)
